LHA problem, different agency staff tell me different things, no help from council

The agency may me an entirely separate business to the letting. If they are separate companies there is no legal connection between them, even if the LL owns both. What matters is whose name is on the STA as landlord. I am equally confused as to what you are actually asking, so I suggest you go back and look at the paperwork and then confirm what you have actually been served with, and the dates. At the moment it's all 'I think'. If you want advice then you need to set out the facts clearly. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Stop making excuses and start the file to send to your MP.
And check out when your MP has their next surgery session; it may be better to give the file to them with the letter and send copies to the LL and Housing. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Who is making excuses? If I thought about contacting the MP in the past then it crossed my mind I just know from experience they do not always want to help, then I don't want to contact without it all being planned. The agency may me an entirely separate business to the letting. The agency is named as the landlord, and I have been served with the usual 2 months notice in a form I just was unsure the number on it.0 -
Tell them that you haven't moved out.
Job done.
Or you can mess about writing your MP etc.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Unless you mean the landlord saying they assumed I moved out.
Yes, it was in regards to the landlord/letting agent saying they assume you have moved out, so they will be changing the locks.
All you have to do is to badger the LHA to sort out your claim. As long as it is done before any court date you're golden.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Ah typical council, got a letter a few days ago saying they confirm they have all they need bar a most recent bank statement so handed in another on Monday, landlord phones them today and they claim I havent handed in anything at all despite numerous reminders from them and told LL I was able to reclaim as of August when the claim was closed straight away so arrears wont mount up.
Except this is what I have already done and LL wrote to me saying I am making no effort to do what the council asks as the council told them I am ignoring letters.
I emailed back to the LL and stated I have done all this and they didnt believe me and said "unless your balance is cleared by notice period you are out" even though I paid another £200 last week and they said a MP has no power to get involved with the council.0 -
Scan/take a picture of the letter from the council and e-mail it to your landlord, or invite him to come and see it.
He will then have proof that you are doing what is required.
Trust me, your MP is a waste of time. I remember getting one from a recent labour leadership candidate, it was hysterical reading.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
