You certainly cannot claim one hour's pay simply because you have spent one hour sorting out the seller's shortcomings.

OP i think you could try for £40, the failed delivery cost plus the phone calls unless you really lost another £40 but it reads like you want IKEA to pay you an hours wages

Ok so just to clarify but you get paid £83,200 a year (2080 x £40) and yet you're quibbling over trying to charge them for 'time wasted' at your hourly rate?

I mean I could understand you doing so on £12k a year, but christ! With that kind of dough I'd just order a limousine and go pick up the box myself!

I worked it out as £20 per hour as "over 2 hours" is mentioned in the OP.
