When looking to buy a laptop what am I looking at for wireless internet?

is it the wi-fi, ethernet or the word modem (have only seen this on one model)

    It depends how you want to connect to the net.

    WiFi - 802.11b/g for wireless

    Ethernet - to connect to a network or router

    Modem - to connect using dial-up (slow)
