Running Frostbite 30 - 34.5mile ultramarathon for Prostate Cancer UK - Please read
Hi all,
Really hoping people will read this and hopefully sponsor me (even though you don't know me) to carry out this crazy task on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK.
I am currently in training for a 34.5 mile endurance run in December called the Frostbite 30... Frostbite because it's in December and 30 because it's a minimum of 30 miles.
It is a big task and taking a massive amount of time and training to get to the level I need to be at to nail it on the day. The run is off road in the Nidderdale area and as such, it is also very hilly (and involves night running).
My reason for doing this is due to an immediate family member recently being diagnosed and treated for the disease, but also to raise awareness as well as attempt to raise funds to help Prostate Cancer UK continue the great work.
Please take a few minutes to read my Justgiving page and if you feel like you want to support this, please do so. A lot of men don't know what or where the prostate actually is, so there is a long way to go to get the message out.
My page is at Justgiving with mikewoods (mikewoods is all one word) on the end (I can't post links so would really appreciate it if someone with a high enough post count could reply to this thread with the correct link, or if a mod could amend my post to have the link).
Cheers all!
Mike

He beat prostate at stage 4.
Sunday is the day, actual distance is 34 miles now the route has been revised and fully planned. It should be a rewarding challenge.
To anyone who may have missed this that supports Prostate Cancer UK, please consider sponsoring me if you can spare a couple of pounds :-), I think I will be on the go for just under 8 hours to complete this one.
Cheers all
Mike
