I’ve got the sky offer with the code provided. I’m getting bills of £9.95 p/m now th

I started up my account with Sky going through the process as per the offer I was emailed in one of my weekly emails. This i did as soon as the offer became available, i obtained my code and setup before the deadline.

Now it would appear that I am to pay £9.95pm. Gladly I added one £ but still is nowhere near the £5.

Have I misunderstood this or am I right in thinking that I "should only be paying £5pm plus whatever I have decided to add to it?

I'm going mad here  at myself.

Please can someone help?

Thank you,

dvtrv

Which deal are you referring to?

I thought the recent MSE deal was that the overall cost for a year was £5.35 as you were paying a total cost of £110.35 and getting £105 credit. It did not say £5pm.

Monthly costs were the half price line rental at £8.70pm so doesn't appear to be anything wrong as presumably you have already received the credit?

Was it the deal mentioned in this thread?

That wouldn't be difficult if the total cost is £5 for a whole year. ;)

However watch out for the increase in call packages from December. Unless you choose the PAYT option with no inclusive calls, it will cost from an extra £4pm depending on what package you choose.

Yes thank you for that. I've seen what changes will happen from December and I am on PAYT.

You've been a great help thank you

I presume there is no need to take the £4 per week default package anyway, downgrade to PAYG and just use the 18185s 0808 1703 703 overide number, assuming they aren't going to block it?

I'm still thinking of changing to some company with Fibre from Sky broadband though since I can only get 2mb/s.

As far as I can tell BT don't have a topcashback fibre deal? Broadband means non-fibre or else they would call it infinity?

and Sky's fibre offer doesn't apply to ex sky broadband customers?

Although at first it looks as if it does until reading the notes
In order to qualify for Sky Existing customer cashback on Broadband upgrades you must not be an existing Broadband customer with sky. For example re-grading your broadband package from the basic package to Unlimited or fibre does not qualify for cashback.

Yes you should still be able to do that.

Why not use Quidco. They are offering £170 cashback for me although the amount does vary from person to person.

It appears not if you already have Sky BB.

I had to use Firefox to use Quidco, Chrome and explorer kept telling me to remove ad blockers despite that they were removed.

Once Quidco passed me through to the Sky site and I tried to buy, they say I'm already on their top package. No mention of fibre. Perhaps it's because Sky fibre isn't available in my area, cable.co.uk say it is, or it's not defined as an upgrade? BT infinity is definitely available.

Call Sky tell them what offers with cashback are available, and you would like to pay less, they will prob give you the £30 Fibre upgrade charge free too.

I got offered the £10 Fibre new customers offer as a current customer, but I'm never below 16MB so it would be wasting £120 and its a BT Wholesale resell product where Sky BB is not so, so come month 11 I'm in a better position with the current offers available elsewhere to bargain a new Sky deal :)

Have you done a speedcheck ? 2MB is very low unless you are very far from the exchange.
