Help With Broadband

Hi All,
First post here,
I am currently with basic BT and our cabinet has gone live now, I phoned up BT To see what deals they can give me and it was overpriced.. [Fibre Optic]
Is it possible to cancel the contract and resign as a new customer via USWITCH? I am out of contract now..
I was also looking at Sky Fibre at 10.00 per month at 38mb and unlimited downloads. Not sure what they are like with customer service/broadband speeds.
I didn't want to go with Talk Talk at 18 months or plus net.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Why not PlusNet? It's owned by BT but run separately. At the moment they have an offer on £10 a month for 6 months then £19.99 a month (18 month contract) for the faster 76Mb, but you have to take their phone line @ £16.99 a month with it. Alternatively there's another offer free for six months then £14.99 a month for the 38Mb fibre, again + line rental.
Had PlusNet myself for nearly six years, the fibre for 18 months, the number of problems I've had with PlusNet and the Broadband/Fibre in that time I can count on the fingers of a man with no fingers.0 -
I didn't really want an 18 month contract been reading on here a few complaints with speed issues and other problems,
But had a look some of the deals are great.
I wanted to stay with BT but didn't want to to pay for their price hikes.. Is there a way of cancelling with BT to re sign as a new customer via U Switch
What are Sky Like?

18 month minimum terms mean the supplier can amortise the wholesale startup costs over a longer period, thereby reducing the headline monthly figure.
You can get 30 day minimum terms from some ISPs, but have to pay an installation fee to cover the setup fee the ISP gets charged.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
If you give notice to BT then you'll have to be disconnected before you can sign up again with them. So either cut a retention deal with BT, or switch to Plusnet as suggested above. Same infrastructure but vastly better CS and invariably cheaper..No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I haven't had any issue with Sky. I had their BB ( not fibre ) for a year and all was fine. Only left for PlusNet due to an offer that gave me LR/BB for £16 for the whole year.
About to switch back to Sky due to an issue with BT equipment at the exchange that BT Operate won't fix. PlusNet's CS has gone downhill recently with reduced support hours, removal of ticket system - even the once brilliant Community forums has reduced customer service input. It's a pity really as it used to be great.0
