I was wanting a 64Gb iphone 6s plus but didn't want to pay high monthly charges. I like the phone, needed the storage but don't actually make masses of calls, I use home wifi for data most of the time.

Found I could buy a 64Gb iphone 6s plus for £27 a month (paid £100 up front) from Giff Gaff and if I bought a £7.50 goody bag it would only cost me £35 a month. This was a lot better than the mostly above £50 packages available from other providers at the time. I think the phone cost £599 (paying £27 a month over 24 months).

I've not had a problem and love the fact that I'm only paying for what I'm using. The 'loan' went through instantly. No waiting a day for checks.

At the time all the cheaper deals (none compared to the above) were for vodaphone. Had one experience with them and was lucky enough it happened in the first few days of a new phone contract so I was able to send the phone back (they stopped my account due to non payment of the DD inspite of the fact that there hadn't been time for the DD to go through 3 days after receipt of the phone, having seen all the complaints about Vodaphone, this was enough for me, I sent the phone back). Never again.

As I moved house and didn't have wifi immediately, one month I was able to pay £20 for an unlimited package which gave me 6Gb of data, unlimited calls and text (useful for all those utility companies and notification of change of address calls before a phone line has been put in) but once you had used that, you were able to use unlimited data between 12 and 8am. Which worked for my two data hungry sons with no fibre temporarily (one is 20, I wouldn't recommend for small kids obviously). It was better than nothing. Overall I think I've done very very well out of Giff Gaff.
