    Pictionary is funny :)

Backgammon is good, but it's for 2 players only.

I would love to learn Mah-Jongg, myself, which is a 4-player game.

Rummikub and Upwords (although you can only find Upwords in charity shops now) Brilliant!

if you can still get it - 'Dirty Minds' is brilliant fun for adults and kids alike. We used to play it a lot down the caravan.
Trivial Pursuit is great too. Monopoly, Ludo or Snakes and Ladders.
otherwise we tended to play card games like 21s (Blackjack) or Trumps.

We enjoy Jenga and "Pass the pigs" which are more silly fun games than sensible ones!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Thanks for that! I had totally forgotten that we have the giant Jenga in the attic. The five year old will love the noise of a 5 foot tower collapsing onto the wooden floor. :D

A few months ago I moaned to my Mum that Mousetrap was now a pale imitation of the game I used to play - much smaller and a lot of the pieces are cardboard rather than plastic. Mum then told me that mine was still in a cupboard at their house! So we now have huge fun playing with my 40 year old game, and it's just as much fun as I remembered. Daddy just gets miffed that a 5 year old is better at constructing the trap than he is.

I bought Pandemic fairly recently, that's a good game suitable for most ages. Has a different feel than monopoly etc as you work together as a team to beat the game instead of against each other for one winner.

Monopoly is a classic so got to be done. You getting a normal version or a themed one? I love a nice themed one, favourites in our house are pokemon and disney monopolies (its just me and OH, we dont even have kids we're just big kids ourselves haha).

Perhaps a Scene It for a household favourite TV show? Disney trivial pursuit (only if you have a house full of disney fans obviously!).

Articulate is a great party game too, feels a bit adult but an 11 year old can definitely play it. I like Cranium too, would the kids be willing to do charades, imitations, pictionary type tasks? Cranium has all these things.
