FWIW, and never having been properly trouted (though attempts on my person have been made - and rebuffed:)), stand your ground, politely; point out T&Cs on the coupons; act innocent and/or stupid - whichever expression suits your face best:D ... in any order, and whichever works best.

Good luck with them phoning 'management' - they tried that after my first trouting today and were told it was all sorted. My second attept was just as bad and it was obvious that either the manager hadn't bothered to talk to his staff or HQ were lying to me (I did think that they got through to the store very quickly so I was suspicious as it always taken me ages if I have phoned them as nobody answers the bloomin phone). At least they are sending me a £10 gift card for my hassle.
