  • I need to find a way to get my Audible books to play on the car stereo. Just had to listen to BFG and Charlie and the chocolate factory mismatched cds all the way to ikea and back. I have them on my phone but stereo is old and doesn't do bluetooth, mp3 or USB

What about getting a copy from the library and playing it through your stereo?

What a day......lovely to catch up and see our Alan's face....and martins puppy:T

Made it to TableTables taster menu and honestly the food was terrible.
    Deep fried pasta as a a starter:eek:
Dry macaroni cheese or far too herby beef stew
    Stodgy crepes to finish:o

Such a wasted opportunity to showcase their new menu. Staff and service were lovely but just couldn't leave a decent review of the food:o

That is really good... I cannot get mine below £20!

    Well done x

There's an extra £5 off code by unticking marketing preferences then there should be a prompt for the offer.

As for getting the min spend to £30, try adding a book of stamps. That was another thing I did differently.

I want to listen to other stories now. He's had them almost 2 yrs and listens to them all the time. That's why I got kids stories with the Audible subscription. I didn't think it all the way through :rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you for sharing x I was not here when your dear Alan (sorry I hope you don't mind me calling him Alan) was here and obviously he made a big impact on everyone. He looks wonderful in the hats, I wondered what the 'dog' hat was, He looks as if he was the type of person who liked a laugh and was there to help others..in other words salt of the earth..I now feel privileged to be able to put a face to all the lovely comments that have been made over the time I have been here.:)

This might work. It takes USB's as well. I have my welsh language cd's on a stick so that might be useful

Me and DD2 went earlier to the first sitting. And I haven't even bothered to post about it as like you thought it was awful. :o

Firstly if you were not drinking wine you were only offered water, and I know when we took DD3 she was offered an alternative like coke.

We had BBQ and spicy chicken wings first and that pasta starter was terrible all the bits were stuck together it was like cardboard.

We then got given one tiny dish of asparagus risotto to share and that was very oily. Then that awful beef bourginon one of the waitresses called it the other called it stew, again to share, one little piece of beef each with one bit of dumpling in a far too rich gravy/sauce, I wouldn't choose it again.

Then came the best bit a quarter of a vegetable burger with pineapple, it tasted just like falafel and I like them. Next was their new quiche which was ok nothing exciting.

For desert we were given a mouthful of sticky toffee pudding with a spoonful of custard each and then the most awful rice pudding with cherry and I mean cherry just the one. :rotfl:

Honestly the rice pudding was the worst I have ever eaten, DD2 said it tasted like cheese, the rice was so dry we made a quick getaway before they came to ask our opinion. I was hoping as the crepe was new on the menu we might get to try some but they were collecting everything up by then.

The staff are always lovely at my local Table Table I felt sorry for them tonight, as could hear others saying they were not keen on some of the offerings. :o

Another couple asked if we had to leave feedback but they were told there was nothing to fill in this time hence me and DD2 escaping quick...

Aww that is lovely HILLBERN. Alan worked self employed doing car boots, mainly vinyl records, and always wore a hat of some sort, he had quite a collection (and I still have them all). The top hat was the favourite, he just kept adding animals to it. Kids, and adults too, used to love seeing what hat he had on each week.

The top hat had pride of place on top of his coffin at the crematorium but I did bring it home with me. I got them to dress him in his beloved Sunderland shirt and he was dressed as he would for the car boot, complete with Micky Mouse Magician hat ... or and a crumpled up clean handkerchief in his pocket, he wouldn't leave the house without his hankie

The support I received from the Elite at the time of his illness and his death after only 4 months was amazing and will stay with me for ever :A :A
