people should talk more about cancer. I have it as one in three of us will do in the future. it needs to be talked about and addressed. it's not a nice subject but neither is people avoiding you because you have it.

I've posted on here because I dont want to answer PMs and it be hidden. I've got incurable blood cancer. I'm going to die from it unless AAU gets me in his double decker bus first

As I've said to a very good friend tonight. Problems are only big if they are affecting your life....whatever they may be. life is too short to please other people.

someone close to me was taken into hospital on Thursday last week. He had a whole body scan and was told he had advanced lung and liver cancer. He went home and his daughter told me on Friday. He passed away yesterday :( I firmly believe some people just give in when they are told.

Not me, I'm not giving in without the mother of all battles :D

Fairclaire, my heart goes out to you, you are such a brave and courageous person, and with a heart of gold. You have overcome so many obstacles in your life this is just another one to get through, may god be with you.

I totally agree with you that people should talk more about cancer, when my sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer, the amount of people that would walk across the street and pretend to be on the phone or just look away, as they didnt know what to say to us. I would prefer them not to say anything than to go out of their way to avoid.

Good luck with setting up a group, you can do it, I know you can.

Good luck with everything and take care.

You could try logging on to tesco groceries to see if it's available to click and collect but chances are it will show unavailable if it's being discontinued.

It's showing that for me not logged in when I googled the product. Oddly when I searched mini kegs the hobgoblin gold says £15. I did read mixed results on HUKD for finding that one for £8.

I tried 2 extra stores yesterday and hit lucky at one.

    Thanks. I will try that

  • I'm struggling to keep up on here at the moment due to my own health, but am so glad I saw this. I'm really sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Put simply, its rubbish.

You are right that people are scared to talk about it. My very good friend has stage 4 soft tissue cancer, which is quite rare. She has mets in her lungs. She has chemo, but her disease isn't curable, so the treatment is palliative. She told her Dr she didn't want to know how long she had left, as she didn't want that to be her focal point. She is a year on from diagnosis and is still here and still symptomless, which is great, although she has confessed that she really didn't expect to still be around. However, she has still only told me and one other person that her condition isn't curable. She is coming to the conclusion that she is going to have to start telling people, just for the fact that her treatment remains ongoing, but she doesn't really want to be dealing with peoples reactions to it, which is why she has kept it quiet.

I think attitude can make an awful lot of difference, and if anyone has that its you! I wish you well with your treatment, and hope that things can remain as "normal" as possible for as long as possible. You have been in my thoughts and will continue to be so.

Totally agree that it should be discussed more in the open like any other illness because as they say 1 in 3 will get it.

The word cancer was taboo in our family until I got it and now everyone is more open and knowledgeable about it.

    Good morning Elite :hello:

Quite a windy day here but it is dry :j

NSD for me as I arranged for my car to be collected for MOT, it doesn't run out until 30th of the month but in my wisdom I thought if I got it in early we can at least have a bigger gap to get away on holiday.

I wanted to go to Mr T to look for those Hobgoblin kegs as ds3 drinks it, as well as some weird and wonderful named beers.

I'm going to have to get my head around Gluton Free foods as ds3s DGF is intolerant to Gluton. If I'm right Aunt Bessie does Gluton free Yorkshire puddings, but what about gravy. I need to do some googling.

I also am thinking about Gluton free bread flour. Would it be cheaper to make bread in a bread maker , rolls too.

I've used a few of the Schar vouchers but our Mr T don't stock anything.
Mr M have the Crisp Breads, Pretzels and Custard Creams.
Mr A have Crisp Breads, Pretzels, 3 types of biscuits, wholemeal and white rolls, single pizza base and bread sticks.
Local Co-op only have the rolls and a white loaf.
Maybe need to travel to Ipswich and check out stocks in lager stores.

Big gentle hugs to FC, Northerngeezer and Tornado x

bubbs hope your appointment this morning went well x

Off to get a coffee and get up to date on a Hedgehog site that I follow, see you all later x
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

Soton JL are giving double points if you have one of their charge cards. They have offers on a pure cashmere brand, some audio offers, lots of beauty offers & a jazz band playing. Don't think I'll bother but would if I had a charge card which I haven't. I'd suggest you ring the store & ask as yours is a home store.

Thanks for letting me know. I don't have a charge card either. :( I might pop along anyway as it is not too far for me. I can ways pop into home bargains. :D
  • I'm hoping to go to Asda tonight to pick up my Cidre. Is it worth checking around for new offers that start tomorrow? or is morning best. I don't get time in the morning anyways!
