Sorry to hear things are still tough for scamps. Nice gesture Henlans. Petty people around.
OH's work freebie, going to see Tom Jones at the O2 on Sunday, anyone know how easy it is to park? Is there a lot of traffic at chucking out time? A huge thanks to the OP regarding the Cidre MOCs , I now have far more cider than I know what to do with. The SV's in my A were wise to the 3F£5 multi so no overage there, but I did get a few modest APGs. Once they worked out where I got the MOCs, they cleared the shelf of Suns for themselves so I moved on to Morries

Here it is... (inevitably:rotfl:)... the "deduction" of £1.50 that adds a cost of £1.09 to the bill as you wouldn't otherwise have bought those two items at T at all!
Nothing Elite, nothing glitchy - I go my own way:rotfl: - just normal items I needed/wanted - although I had someone else footing the bill (but, then again, doesn't make owt difference as just part of the household anyway so it's all part of that).
Asda was
£0.70
less
Sainsburys was
£0.09
less
Morrisons was
£1.50
less
First thing to notice is I often end up with every other store being cheaper:rotfl::rotfl:. Shopped at the most expensive place. On the brands (own brands of course aimed to be shopped at the best, i.e. cheapest, place).
I'll pull this all apart in some later post and analyse where I 'saved'/didn't and my thinking behind what I was buying and why (as there's always a reason - more thought that goes into it than you realise:D).

Yes, I bought one of the Seabrooks crisps, effectively for M's 50p price, that I never put on my own list at that price and apparently didn't think was much good:rotfl:.
I don't think I've ever have picked it up at all in M at 50p:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::o:(:rotfl:.
So: 50p more than I would ever have spent!!
Also 5p lost compared to buying it in A. However, that would then have needed me to buy 7 other items and be doing a Morries comp there which I was not otherwise going to do, so would have cost more (the additional cost of the 7 items) although I could have paid using a womble or an APG off my own shop, but then again I can now buy other items more efficient in A with that APG and maybe more glitchy - so in total it may work out 'better' and that's the thinking behind it there.
Plus T is now my nearest store (when I ignore Sains that's just too expensive normally for me:rotfl:) and not needing to go in the direction of A tonight and would have cost me more than 5p.
As usual at T:(, I started by getting ripped off by them again:mad::mad: - store didn't have the bigger Rubens apple pack - it wasn't showing when I logged in earlier on msm when I was preparing my shop - and it turns out, usually again, fairly accurate as indeed, my nearest store has gone OOS:(. So, as expected, I had to settle for the smaller Tangy apples pack (and thus "shortchanged" by 150g) although they are the same number of apples.
1x T. SMALL TANGY APPLE 6 PACK 520G
- £0.69 n/a n/a n/a
Although all called Small Tangy apples, they had two different packs with a single different apple variety in each but they had the same BC so would have been only one item (and I didn't need to spend an extra 69p buying a second pack of apples). Cox apples are now on 59p in Aldi - I bought a pack of those just beforehand - and we do need a different kind of apple as well, so, although paying 10p more, that was a purchase we needed.
The Banana to be fair would not have been bought, but it's hardly breaking the bank and didn't cost as much as the completely different OOS item. And the water, also I'd failed to find an Eday value item - that was much more costly than 17p - as typical my store was OOS so couldn't get that (which Mr A no longer produces a version of:mad::rotfl:).

1x TESCO EDAY VALUE WHT CHOC BAR 100G
- £0.30 n/a:) £0.35 n/a
1x TESCO WHOLEMEAL MEDIUM BREAD 800G
- £0.08 way more expensive everywhere else:D:D:eek:, including my chosen competitor:D:T:T:rotfl:
Tesco comparable total £1.70 £0.89 £2.59
Competitor shop total £1.00 £0.80 £1.09
The difference £0.70 £0.09 £1.50
cost less cost less cost less Obviously these totals would be different - usually making the competitors more expensive:rotfl: - if it had been the 'old way' of comparing against own brands. In fact, all of them would most likely have been more expensive than what the actual comparison had them, because of that whoopsied bread(:rotfl:) so this would not have given as 'much' as £1.50 before.
So, that explains my purchases well I think. I now like how I can use the water and not lose anything vs M:D:cool:, although lose 1.7p compared to buying in A (on T comp.). Although - my T is now actually spring water whereas A's is tap water I believe (don't tell them that!) so you could argue there was now a perceived:p value in that. However, T comp in A - again yet more items than the one would be needed if now going and doing a new shop and the loss is so minor.
Rich Tea - I think that may work out cheaper at T. Same price in Lidl (but if I'd got there then would have not had enough items for this T shop). Eday Value Soft Spread - alternately bought in M (at same price) - these items are now my preferred favourite in the light of no £1.37 ICBINB pricing recently and nothing as good as Sains (glitch months ago?) of £1.00 on that - and ran out of that, sadly, several months ago. Again, paying by wombles in A for other spread etc. might be cheaper even if worse price per units on costs (or costs vs elsewhere) are normal there but 1kg for £1.35 (or 67.5p per 500g) seems a 'good' price.
The chicken pies - cheaper by weight than Iceland's BE offer, although smaller pies:( although it's same number anyway so gives same number of meals:T and we consume less. Otherwise self-explanatory regarding my mention of Sains. Not available in A or elsewhere at cheaper than T and chicken pies there -:eek:the prices on them most times!
White Chocolate Bar wanted - no equivalent in A of that, so no 10% lost. Oops - Sains (irrelevant as my comp. targetted M) is a bit more expensive!:rotfl: Same price at Aldi. Could be a good 'filler' (not that we should ever be buying fillers now in T and doing TBG shops instore) if doing a comp. shop vs S (maybe you don't have a Sains for many miles:cool: - but then again what brands are best value in Sains?!?:(:rotfl:) and if you get drawn in:(:( to doing a TBG shop.
The wholemeal bread - :j:j. :rotfl:And I wouldn't have necessarily been able to pick up some bread at that price in another store. Just haphazard as to when you are there (which you can control, to some extent, but still no guarantee of getting). That has saved me some, compared to being 'forced' again to buy at normal prices of SP/Savers/Simply in Lidl or Essentials in Aldi as I can't always get whoopsied bread in my stores (I'm never in the stores at the right time:() - but this time, very lucky, as just that one left and was a product I will use.
I couldn't find any RTC Hallowe'en items:( - they've all gone from this store now and not even any RTCs that were cheaper than any branded RTCs on these items at M:D (and, therefore, should not compare:D:D:rotfl:).
Added up, instead of that bread, I would have paid 36p in Lidl/Aldi (or now, next time, probably, as I can't get whoopsie:(, 33p on Wholemeal in Mr A - trouble is I think A is fewer slices as it's thicker bread?). Actually I've lost there haven't I?:( If I add 8p plus 17p water and the 12p banana (a couple of items I bought instead of the actually more costly OOS items I originally had) - total cost is... 37p:(. My banana was a penny too much - and sees me paying 37p against my expected 36p bread elsewhere (before I knew that A had gone down in price). So, I've ended up paying a penny more to T for getting the two extra items (water and banana) which has cancelled out my saving by getting the bread whoopsied:(:(:rotfl:. However, that's giving the banana and water no value at all and I will use them (and would have had to have purchased certainly a banana at some stage elsewhere anyway).
As for the brands, the Seabrooks - although I criticised it! - not that bad at 50p really! Perhaps I liked getting T down to 50p on it. Even though I would never have bought a pack of crisps at 50p elsewhere:(:(, and so as I mentioned earlier, it's an extra 50p paid. But we are threatening to get through some crisps, and perhaps I need a few more:cool: - I have a 30 pack box which I got from M at £2.37 some weeks ago and supposed to be leaving that until Christmas - but I must admit, the last four or five days or so, I've almost got to opening the box and having a crafty single bag. Just trying to keep off completely having for a bit, and making them last, but I must admit I have been tempted every other day in the last few days!! So, maybe the Seabrooks are needed to just keep to about 30 packs of crisps left. I have have six packs out of that box now:eek::eek::rotfl:.
The Barratt Licquorice - I should have picked that up from M when I saw it. I would have bought at that price and, if you go to msm, you can see - it seems I've noticed it immediately that it went on offer!!:rotfl::D:D:T It is at the general lowest price it goes to, a 30p deduction although it's actually you could say a rip-off compared to bags of Licquorice elsewhere! Even Sains own brand licquorice is cheaper by weight than that I think!:eek: However, despite that, and the gs. it gives (or doesn't:rotfl:), it's also the type of item as well - the fact it's the wheels and not licquorice allsorts as such, a bit like having soft drink in cans! So, I'll just buy the one pack of that that I failed to pick up earlier. And have someone else paying tonight as well:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
I suppose I've done quite well! The brands were £2.59 at T's shelf price, but they paid (in addition to the own brand bill:(:rotfl:) £1.09 M price for them. The difference was more than the cost charged for them, so, as usual!, I got more than 50% back off what would have been a voucher back off a shop before (although obviously not if you count the essential own brand purchases in the bill). Although, in fact, all it is is buying at M prices. But we weren't going any direction to M tonight and this was convenient to the shop tonight, bought in one place I suppose - and bill happened to be picked up by another member of the family! It was about 42% of the T shelf price on the two items - and I like figures that are under 50%.0
