I think that even if your Aldi, Home bargains, B & M etc are miles away I think its still worth a once a month long drive to stock up on the basics
I know, that's what I do (with Aldi anyway, a bit more often than once a month - T and Aldi are close to each other nearby:T, or fit it in with the Morries run). So I can buy my frozen veg. pack from Aldi each time:). And then only to discover that Lidl, much closer to me, have the same sort of product at the same price:o. But, do you know what? I've bought the Lidl one now - and I don't really like it as much as the Aldi one. So, I can still go back to the Aldi one. No special trips, just fit it in with the journeys I was doing otherwise (that's when I can do any journeys given today's happenings:mad::mad:). I also have to do the same with Sains. petrol, given that my closest one wants to charge more:mad:.
At least we've got enough food in the house (bread, milk) and didn't need to go out for any today, only fortunately. If not, we could have popped out to the local Sains:eek: - hardly any point saving a few pence on things when you're losing pounds on a repair anyway:(.
That's really what we're missing though - I wish the prices of Lidl were online, as that's mainly the area we're missing. They usually have the same stuff (their own versions obviously) as Aldi at the same price - in other words, a lot cheaper than anywhere else!
It's usually same items, time after time, that are consistently cheaper in one place that another. Of basic items, unless they go on offer elsewhere (which does need constant checking;)). So, my shopping, now I shop at different places to get best from each, is usually the same items as I usually get from each one. I think Baking Powder and Tartare Sauce are 'always' cheaper at Aldi - unless Lidl also has same thing at same cost.0 -

This was not medication I really wanted to use but we had exhausted all options and she was affected really badly by fireworks.
I wont go down the Diazapan path. Vet did suggest a cd when she had her injections last year but to be honest think I would be wasting my money or it would make me sleepy0 -
