I just took an intake of breath on seeing it - they've ripped out the mirror and taken it and left parts of the frame in damaged bits on the road, close to the car. It's not just the cost obviously, but the disruption as well:(. How someone can just do that.
I've just managed to arrange a new mirror for Wednesday morning (fortunately they have the right colour frame in stock), so from your POV, although that's the least of my concerns, I should be able to go to M on Wednesday. I had everything planned for today and it's now in disarray - don't know what I'll do the rest of the day now.
Don't worry about me emotionally though - I've had so much bad done to me in the past that this is water off a duck's back unfortunately now. I have no idea who's done it and, of course, there's no way of tracing them:(. As usual it always end with the person on the receiving end having to pay:(:(.
Someone did this to my car two years ago. I assume that theirs was broken and rather than just buy new parts, they stole mine.
It happened at a shopping centre and I had to drive home on the m25 with no drivers side wing mirror and my two kids in the car.
Glad your getting it sorted xxx0 -
Oh Savvy
I'm so sorry, as you say, it's not just the cost, but also the disruption and upset :mad:Fighting Recurring Cancer0 -
Savvy....nasty thing someone has done.....but yes you can drive without a mirror,we had a similar thing happen to us some years ago and actually queried it with the local police station....
Its inconsiderate and an expense you dont deserve but there should be no problem with driving your car to the garage to get it fixed
I don't imagine driving like that for a number of miles to M though?
Actually, to think about it, yes it must be true as there are vans that don't have any ability to see out of any rear window as they do have mirrors instead. So if you can see out of the rear window via the mirror in the middle of the car itself, then the driver's mirrors outside are not essential - bit unsafe though not having them (motorcycles, bikes around you etc?).0 -

Cost (later) and mainly disruption now - no upset. I seem to be immune to stuff like that - in a way perhaps sadly. For me, disruption to a routine is more the thing. Though I seem to be fairly 'okay' with having that thrown out. All it is, I've got up and now... I'm not going anywhere:(. I could cry to be honest if I wanted to, but I'm not going to get that way.
Just stay here at home - and doing nothing is actually easier than doing something instead. So a routine changed to 'doing nothing' is actually able to be coped with.
EDIT: Actually, if I looked at my post now and started reading it, I could get upset - but I'm not going to go that way. I'm more upset due to my inability to get upset, frankly. Maybe I should just laugh (before I cry).:(0 -
Savvybuyer wrote: »Is this still on today in M? If it is, then it should make it to the system on Wednesday (probably there on Tuesday night but to be sure, wait until Wednesday).
It will not be in the system today, and won't be in the system for much of tomorrow judging by how the APG is now updating.
If it's just a weekend offer in M and doesn't continue into the Monday, then it will never be picked up on the APG I'm afraid.
Maybe I should just sit here and answer people's posts:rotfl:. Though the situation in which I have been left is not good:(.
thank you Savvybuyer

All I and we can do is wish ill on them:(. I did think about ringing the police (to report the theft) - but, even if they came, there's little chance of them finding the culprits or anyone ever being caught sadly.:p0 -
Good Afternoon
I left Virgin Broadband because it didn't work in my house used to be ringing customer service every other day . Customer services used to ping ? it at their end and it worked til day after. I would never have been able to play Candy Crush while on Virgin it used to go off for a sec this would happen loads times in an evening even DS complained.
When I told them I was leaving for O2 after about 7 years struggling with them they offered me free broadband , tv and line rental for a year I told them no chanceWent with O2 no problem and now with Sky since they bought O2 and still no problem. So I wouldn't recommend Virgin
Washer on with Poppy's blankets in , her bed is outside drying . Got home from work and she had been sick in her bed not a lot but her bed needed wiping and blankets washing.
She lay down side of sofa asleep. Fingers crossed no fireworks tonight or I will be grrrrrrrrrrrrr .0 -

Changed my mind - I'm not bothering. I'll just drive it to the repair on Wednesday.
I've looked elsewhere on the net and apparently, if a mirror is fitted as standard, which they are with all modern cars, then it needs the mirror to be roadworthy and pass the MOT. People of course drive with defects all the time and are unlikely to be pulled over by the police but, as a person who has Asperger's, who worries about rules, I get more concerned about getting pulled over - even though it's probably such a minor and (for most other people I suspect) unnoticeable thing, I'm unlikely to be pulled over and, if I was, the most I might get would be advice telling me to get it fixed.
However as it's not roadworthy, it shouldn't be on the road at all. So, even when it's outside my house, stationary, it's still technically an offence there. However, there's nowhere else for the car to be - I do not have a driveway - so it's physically impossible for it not to be on the road, especially as the reason it's been made illegal is by someone else on the road putting it into that state for me. There's no way it could be moved off the road onto any legal place, without doing that remaining on the road whilst travelling to that place and thus still illegal anyway. Chances of a police officer seeing it without a mirror and knocking on my door? Nil. Or virtually nil.
Anyway, I'll follow the neurotypical approach:D. You don't actually comply with the written rules that you set out anyway, so I need not worry - pragmatic approach. I've no idea why there's a law if it's not followed and enforced, but anyway - that's not for me to understand as understanding the contradictions and inconsistencies of the neurotypical world is not something that is intended to be. They (i.e. largely you, the global "you") just have these contradictions anyway. And that's the way it is. So, there's nothing to understand as there's nothing intended to be understood and I'm trying to identify rationality and logic where none exists.0
