Checked my mums phone bill with Sky on the tv today and I see she had 2 phone calls costing over £9.00 each to these 2 numbers, 09068786060 and 09067393030. I looked them up online and one seems to be a draw line for Daytime tv and other mentions people being called and the calls costing them loads. My Mum wouldnt be able to write down a tv draw number in time so I can only think they called her. I am not sure what to do?

Phonepayplus may be able to assist, if it's about compensation for premium rate numbers (which these are) which your mum didn't ring.

They have a website (and number-checker) here:
    https://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/

This was something I was into over a decade ago - at one time I knew the details of the rules. Not sure now what the details are, or whether they cover this situation - but you can have a look at that website and their Codes of Practice which, I'm sure, somewhere would say whether there would be any compensation or not and to what extent the regulator's powers now extend.

But, yes, try Sky as well (or first) about possible blocking the numbers for the future (bit after the horse has bolted there though...).

EDIT: In fact, complain about those numbers to Phonepayplus as they can look into those numbers and whether the provider of them did anything they shouldn't if they called her. I'd ring their freephone number (0800 500 212) in the morning and recount to them the situation exactly as you have put it in your post. You'll need to press the option that says you did call a number though, don't worry this is just to get you through to the staff (the other option ends up with a recorded message and eventually cuts you off:().

I am going to the Manchester show.

I was emailed them couple hours after you print them out at home if you are talking about the free MSE ones. The email is from SEEtickets I think.

Use this link to track the order and you should get an option to resend email or reprint from that page. You need order ref. and your postcode. HTHs

  • Hi.
ROSE..was just wondering if anyone had visited and asked to use your mums phone as a favour or whatever.is just an ideacas I dont know what sort of arrangements re who goes to see her and stuff.
the only reason I suggested it was that dhs grans son used to do it to her loads then when she got a big bill, she couldnt remember and we just assumed at first she was at fault, iykwim.only discovered by accident.and the catalogue bills ran up by another relative was another story best forgotten.
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

    LOVE ME, LOVE MY NEWFOUNDLAND.:A

tweets, is our Poppy ok tonight? I'm pages and pages behind as been out most of the day and was busy yesterday so never caught up.
We had a few fireworks earlier this evening, nothing much though.

SNAP, please listen and take the advice given on here. You need time off work to get your head together and look for another job. There is no way you can continue working where you are a as this bully would just carry on picking on you.

Go off sick for a couple of weeks then hand in your notice if you have another job lined up. You do need to get out if that place as soon as you can though x
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

If it's daytime television and a competition, Ofcom's regulations also apply. I don't think this would be run today by any reputable television channel though (in other words, any TV channel). There's been a number of high profile cases involving competitions and television organisations being fined. I doubt any would touch it with a barge-pole nowadays. In other words, I don't think TV channels would even run such programming now - due to the compliance risks (see https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/phone_in_quiz_show_regulation_of#incoming-430701). It may be advertising instead. Whatever the situation with that, start with Phonepayplus.
