basically my OH sold a signed photo from the bbc over 15 months ago , buyer at time after receipt said it was fake (wasnt as was obtained in person) so we asked to return it for refund which they didnt
anyway, move on a year later and surprise the buyer messages us to say he just found out it was a fake ( same as email 15 months ago!!!) and wants refund
contacted ebay CC and they said dont refund if i have proof which obviously we dont as it was obtained in person
just wondered from previous experienced sellers what to do next or where i stand
TIA

Ignore them. It has been 15 months, they can't open a case now. Ebay won't do anything (for that reason).
If they opened a case before they wouldn't be able to open another anyway and they should have returned it when you first told them to. It's too late now.
If they really thought it was fake they should have contacted you again or done something more at the time, not waited 15 months.
Sounds like perhaps they wanted a free item and for some reason they've decided to try again.
I'm sure there are specialists who would confirm it's real, but the buyer should be proving it's not real. Ebay expect the buyer to prove the item isn't real when they claim something is fake. As I said though, ebay wouldn't do anything now anyway.0 -
Ignore it and put them on your block list to stop them buying anything else from you and causing more trouble.
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
Chancer.

Another one here for ignore ignore ignore, and as suggested add them to your blocked buyers list.0

Have they bought another signed item recently? Maybe they are trying it on with another seller and mixed it up with yours?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Do ebay realise how long ago it was? Ignore the buyer and don't update ebay on it - the buyer can't do anything and, while ebay is highly unlikely to do anything given the length of time, if they don't know any more about it then there's no chance of them doing anything anyway.0 -

Ebay CS talk rubbish, just ignore them.
The only chance buyer could possibly have is to go to small claims- which is unlikely.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
