CRA 2015 only came into force on 1st October, if the phone was purchased before that then the retailer can replace, repair or refund: the choice is theirs.

The phone was purchased Saturday afternoon

God. So you have a cast iron case for a refund. EE staff clearly require some retraining...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Well that's what I would have thought....however the manager insists not and was very intimidating towards me and wife.

Will update when I hear from them
  • EE shop phoned today

Said we shop pop into shop to discuss options.
Wife said she wasn't going into the shop as she felt imitated by the attitude shown by the staff ( I can confirm they were rude )

They then said nothing could be done to resolve the situation, and then put the phone down

I kid you not, that was the extent of the call
  • Just a update on this

Issued a letter before action......no response

Visited trading standards who wrote to EE head office and then they sprung into life.....got money back and a bunch of flowers and a promise that the store manager will receive additional training.

Still won't set foot into a EE again though
