Who's right as a couple of people above said there a common problem. It's going to a garage this week to see what the clicking noise on full right lock is
A drag link is a common problem on a vehicle with one, usually you can feel some steering wobble or shudder.
Clicking on full lock could be a CV joint (outer)
A vehicle can pass an MOT with a slightly clicking CV joint.
I still vote for drop link, they usually have a ball joint top and bottom and can be changed in 5/10 minutes depending on wether the nuts are rusted on.
You could change them on the wife's old Accent without jacking the car up, just out the jack under the anti roll bar to remove the tension, though that was a unique situation as they tended to snap rather than have wear in the ball joints.
Facade gave good advice but prior to you notifying what vehicle you owned, hence his mention of a very old vehicle.
The drag link basically attaches to one hub and the tie rod connects that hub to the other so that the steering motion from the steering box down the drag link to the hub is transferred simultaneously to both hubs.
Landrovers have a drag link as they have a steering box however the arm on the end of the steering rack is also known as the drag link ive been in the motor trade 40 years as i said this is a common problem on renaults also on Vauxhalls mainly Corsas etc easy cheap fix thou
