Advisory notice item(s)
Offside Front Drag link end ball joint has slight play (2.2.B.1f)
What is this in normal terms?
And is it expensive to do?
Thanks
HI LEE.
In lay mans term , it means its showing or feeling slight loose play in the joint & it will need replacing deffinetley before the next mot, nothing to duly worry you,so when you have some spare cash get it replaced0 -
The drag link joins the steering box (or idler on a Landrover) to the hub.
Offside balljoint will be the one nearest the drivers side.
I'm guessing you either have a Proper Old Car, or it is something like a Jimny.
They are easy to replace, but the steering needs realigning afterwards, again not difficult, but it adds to the bill.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Would this be connected to my noise I get when on full right lock it make a clicking noise until the wheels start to straighten up?0

It's a 2006 Renault scenic0 -
Easy fix Renaults reknowned for this what it is is the arm on the end of the steering rack not the wheel end but the end where the arm screws into the actual steering rack which is inside the rubber convulted boot on the end of the rack These arms are very easy to replace and are about £25 from Eurocarparts or such like, i would also suggest you fit a new boot at same time, basically remove the wheel undo the nut on the track rod end and remove from the hub carrier then undo the clips on the rubber boot and slide the boot towards you revealing where the arm screws into the end of the rack. Then turn if not already the steering on a full lock towards you then either with a pair of molegrips or such undo the arm from end of rack will be tight but usually a sharp blow with a hammer on the molegrips will do it . then simply fit new arm new boot remove track rod end from old arm counting number of turns and refit to new arm etc . The tracking shouldnt be to far out but just to be sure get it wheel aligned0

On a Renault Scenic it doesn't mean anything, the MOT tester is an idiot. You can go back and ask him what he actually meant or get it looked ta by somebody who know's what they're doing.0 -
What EcoR1 says...
A scenic doesn't have the said component. Incompetent MOT tester or typo and selected the wrong box on the test system.0 -

Who's right as a couple of people above said there a common problem. It's going to a garage this week to see what the clicking noise on full right lock is0 -
I don't think the terminology is correct.
Would a Renault Scenic have a Drag link? Surely it would have a steering rack?
Could the problem actually be the anti roll bar drop link?
That would make more sense on a 9 yr old Renault to be fair.0
