If you google gap year insurance or back packer insurance you will get lots of choices to slog through, one of which is http://www.karmainsurance.com/index.htm who offer a policy for £127.Ive no idea if this is good or bad but you can use it as a benchmark to compare other quotes
The Karma quote does not include taxes, which takes it up to £160, but still a very competitive quote ... Endsleigh want closer to £300!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Just looked into this for daughter who wants to spend the next year doing a range of jobs abroad. Annual trip policies didn't cover the issue as the time away was so short and didn't cover work. Having looked up this site and Which and spent hours researching online, I finally bought a policy from Ace-it was about £178, covered various student type jobs and seemed to have generous cover, including search and rescue. (Her sister got lost in the Alps two weeks ago-found her way back by following the river !). It specified jobs, which seem to be quite comprehensive ,and also some activities. If anyone has any experience of this company I would appreciate some feedback- I really couldn't find the right policy-they even split into Gap year and Backpacker which added to my confusion.
I did also look at Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree forum and the chief problem is obviously the claims history- some real horror stories there.0 -
I got annual insurance for £32, including USA from moneysupermarket.co.uk. It lets you compare what they cover and clearly shows the prices.Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!
