Moving in fully after we get married in March.
What's best for us in the current climate? We like to watch regular TV I guess:
BBC ONE, TWO
ITV
Channel Four
The rest is up for question:
Options I've heard about are Netflix, Amazon Fire Stick, your usual Sky, Virgin etc...what's good and bare in mind I've not watched TV in like 3 years as most of it has been done on my PC.

Err.... Normal Freeview will suffice for those channels as long as you have an aerial. Oh and its free.0

What types of programmes do you like?
How do you like to watch (linear TV, catch-up, boxsets)?
How much do you want to spend on equipment and subs?0 -
If you are considering Sky and would like me to recommend you as a friend let me know. I think we'd both get approx £125 vouchers.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -

Programmes like American series, boxsets and the usual E4 type channels. Looking at a package that suits us.
I'm thinking Netflix and the Fire Stick or does the Fire stick do better than Amazon...?0 -
The FireStick is the best value technology available at the moment, however, it is geared towards Amazon prime as a content source.
Chromecast is less sophisticated but more open. With (free) add-ons like Videostream and LocalCast, you can turn it into a very capable and flexible media player.0 -
As above, Freesat or Freeview will give you al the channels you list at no cost whatsoever. No point in subscription TV if you don't watch subscription channels. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

This makes sense.
Is the Fire Stick a substitute for Netflix then?
The Fire Stick gives you access to multiple apps, including Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. Netflix will require a subscription (30 day trial available if you've not used it before), and Amazon is available with a Prime subscription or on a PPV (Pay Per View) basis. Some apps will provide free content (often ad-supported), others will also require a subscription or PPV.0
