    That may be how you make a complaint, words are much more effective.

    She has been misled, advised badly, steered towards an unnecessary service, the implied contract is meaningless. £180 may be nothing to you, to some it's a lot of money

    No she hasn't been misled, she was told the price before the contract and paid it and thus entered into the contract.

    She has overpaid there is a difference, it's just like buying insurance. It's called shopping around.

    Oh by the way , I looked at a laptop the other day with a blown motherboard, it was full of cat hair.

    Trusting their word and not knowing how she could do that she handed over £180 (student budget instantly blown) to send it off and for data recovery. She was then told it could be up to another £300 for parts.

    Yep but unfortunately had entered into a contract. Just as disgusting charging £75 to change a 50p tapwasher.

    It didn't, it used to sit on the laptop as it was nice and warm.

    It was a relatives laptop with a nvidia gpu in as well.
