This morning, just before 8am I visited the easyjet site to book my flights for 2 people in July 2016. We are going to a wedding so our dates were not flexible. I found the dates I wanted, highlighted them, put our names in, booked bags and extra legroom as I was happy with the price of £555.80 in total. Finally I put in my payment details at which time a box popped up to tell me the booking had now increased to £639.44 due to popularity of these flights (this took less than 4/5 mins in total). Now 2 things occurred to me. 1) when I booked my seats there were no seats already booked. 2) When I started the booking Easyjet and myself had entered a contract to say I was paying £555.80 for the flights and options I had requested. Surely it's like getting your shopping, standing in a queue to pay and then finding out your shop had since increased in price by over 15%.... Spent my lunch hour on hold to Easyjet... Now 55 minutes on hold since returning home after work and then I speak to a 'customer service representative' (I have his name) who tells me I should have used google chrome rather than my internet browser and the prices are always going up. I asked to speak to his manager as I wasn't happy but was polite and told him I knew my issue wasn't with him. He cut me off.
I've used Easyjet regularly for over 14 years and the price quoted after adding my extras has always been the amount I've paid. Is this a one off glitch or a change in policy???? Any advice welcome! 0 -
Didn't happen to us when we booked at 6.40am this morning -but my nephew commented that his prices went up whilst he was looking this morning!
The annoying thing for many people seems to be the misinformation - lots of people online at various times from midnight to book ,couldn't do it -then suddenly it becomes mid morning -just by chance ,we looked on tablet at 6:20am -and flights seemed to be available - we were all booked by 6.40am -wonder how many people took them at their word, went online at ~ 10.30 and as a result didn't get the chance at the cheapest seats.0 -

This happened to me about 2 years ago now so nothing new. Mine went up by about £30 a head whilst I was inputting my details. Not heard the one about google chrome being the better browser to use though.0
