Clydesdale Bank - We "Don't" Care!

Guys, Just wanted to share with you an experience I am having with Clydesdale Bank at present.
Over a year ago me and my partner approached the bank with regards getting a mortgage. We spoke to them in detail before the application as my partner used to be in a trust deed, but this have been discharged for 3 years and is due to drop off the credit files next year.
They knew everything about us, as we banked with them too. They asked us to do certain things, which we done. Our first application was declined but said that we would be accepted in 6 months time.
So we reserved a new house, with the bank even setting instruction with one of there panel of Solicitors. They have now pulled the plug from under our feet.
I complained to the banks CEO and without even asking our side they said !!!!!! off basically!
Our dreams are shattered! I'm disabled and it's stress related, so haven't had a great time of it!
I have requested several times for a meeting with David Duffy the CEO and ignored, even to there group CEO in Australia.
One thing in Scotland that we have on our side is the law. Yeah me taking on a bank is a mammoth task but if you serve someone with a summons they must appear in court.
So thats how I will get my meeting with Mr Duffy. I'll take him to the small claims court. The ombudsman are toothless and do nothing, they are a complete waste of time.
So if I was anyone, I would not go near Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank. Please pass this information on to your friends too!

It would be far easier to engage a whole of market broker to find you a lender who will be more likely to take on your case.
There are more lenders out there than just this one bank. You need to be more objective about this if you actually want to get a mortgage, rather than go a crusade against a lender because you don't fit their criteria. You'll only make yourself even more stressed.0 -
The bank cannot be compelled to lend you money.
No the CEO does not have to attend a small claims hearing, even in Scotland. A representative for the corporation can attend.

Understand your angst at your mortgage application being declined. However there's no right to a mortgage. No amount of complaining will help you. Nor will the law as none has been broken.0

We already have after the bank declined us.
Unfortunately in Scotland we do not have the luxury of lenders that will consider our circumstances. These types of lenders only lend in England and Wales.0 -

I'm afraid they do need to appear. The bank is registered in Scotland and under scots law if a Sheriff Officer serves you are writ then you must attend the court.0 -

I know no law has been broken, however the inconvenience of the situation that the bank will go through will be similar to the inconvenience it's put us through.
It's time people stood up to banks and stop letting them bully people!0 -

A serial time waster is a customer no business will want to deal with.
There's nothing to suggest you've been bullied either.0 -

Then focus on changing your circumstances such that you will be a more attractive prospect to the lenders that you can access, rather than wasting time and energy on pursuing something which will get you nowhere.0 -

Sorry but just no. If you are issuing a small claim against Clydesdale Bank the corporation, they will send an authorized representative. There is no way a Sherriff is going to insist that the CEO appears for a <£3000 case that has already been dismissed by the ombudsman. Not a snowballs chance.0 -
