There's money saving and then there's being a tightwad trying to make money out of your friends. I think this dilemma comes under the latter.

No. As per bigadaj's post, it's not worth the hassle for a few pence. Anyway, do you carry enough loose change for all of them? No, you don't.

I would have no issue with it, but I'd also be willing to share any discount vouchers/rewards that were personally mine with my friends too.
  • It's perfectly normal to take the cash and pay the whole bill by credit card - I don't think you need to be so calculating about it.
What is not acceptable (which I've seen done) is for the cash payers to include a share for the tip, but the card payer to pay the whole bill with no tip.

How is this a dilemma? If my friends are paying cash and then I take their cash and pay by cash back credit card, that's their loss and my gain! They don't "really" lose anything, and if they don't like it they can use their own credit card too!
  • I do not understand why you are asking here when you are going to be asking your friends, which is what is important really - if they're really your friends, they won't mind, if they do, they'll say so. If any object you could say, well how about using mine this time and yours next time?
  • Has the MSE site had some sort of glitch today? I've noticed everyone commenting on anything and MSE staff writing itself - all the posts are like trying to read a foreign language?!
  • Ask them all when you get there and im sure they'll let you do it.How much do you estimate this will bring in,20p 30p,if your really lucky some may even give you the money to help out.I'm sure this was the same answer i gave the last time this one came up,wonder what repeat so called DILEMA is in for next week.

I don't have a clubcard, so I give my mate my points when we shop at the same time.

    It's a no-brainer.
