DBS check - proofs of identity

I use online bank statements and online utility bills for ID - I just print them. My solicitor accepted them as proof of ID recently as did my mortgage providers when applying for a new mortgage (bank statements)lisa110rry wrote: »I didn't know that!!!! I used to sign off DBS checks in my last job. Printed off copies of bank statements and utility bills should not be accepted as proof of address. The last guidance I worked to indicated that they were not acceptable, nor was a NI card. You could argue anyone could mock up and print off bank details etc. There were things to look for in all documents as ways of stating whether they were genuine or not. For example, I could tell from a driving licence number whether someone had a middle name and whether they were declaring it
I make sure I have at least 1 item that is in print form, for this very reason. I'm also surprised that someone isn't on a Council Tax Bill or has a bank account in their name.0 -

Everything is on line now Mrs Scattercushion. However, I was able to get what I needed via my passport, my driving licence (yes I know where the middle name is hiding) and a letter regarding my investments.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

We have both lived in our current house for well over 20 years. My husband's name does not appear on the Council Tax bill as I have always paid it. (He does have bank accounts and the gas bill is in his name.)0 -
Exactly our experience - 28 years in the same house and just my husband's name on the council tax bill as I was not on the electoral register when we moved in.
The CTC check is the one I already have from Disclosure Scotland. I realise it doesn't mean anything and would have to be done again next time I'm on a project that requires one.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Our council tax bill has both of our names on it even though OH pays it by direct debit. We added me on when I needed proof of address for a disclosure check.0
