Compensation from Ebuyer - faulty new computer, lost days at work etc

You have two options: Either you purchased as a consumer, in which case you wouldn't be covered for any loss of work, since it's a consumer product; or you purchased as a business, in which case you're bound by their T&Cs.
If having your computer available was so vital to your business, I presume you would have purchased a business class support package with a same-day replacement service to go with it?0 -
Took a while to find the wifi card was not fitted? Should have taken someone mere minutes to spot that and give you a wifi dongle to get you up and running for your £50.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Sorry but this sounds like another mild inconvenience situation over exaggerated into "days of stress that had me in tears" (read; give me all your money).
OP you state you work for yourself as a freelancer, but clearly aren't smart enough to have a cheapo standby PC for emergencies?
What are you going to do if the new PC suddenly stops working?
You state you have your money back, yet think you deserve compo for the "stress" (as per everyone else with a bit of "stress" does these days) however how is this eBuyers fault?
Did you take steps to mitigate your losses? (i.e. borrowing a friend/family members laptop to continue working), if not, why? *think before you answer as it would need to stand up in court should you take this that far
Can you prove actual losses?
Can you state exactly why the fact that you, bought something as a consumer, while irritating that it didn't work, think your entitle to claim business losses off ebuyer and compensation for "stress" - when there was no clear business contract between yourself and eBuyer to provide turnaround in x days or repair next day etc....
Basically I'd not bother with small claims if I was you... it'll be a complete waste of time and money and your case will fall to bits faster than a wet cake.

If you are a freelancer then you should run your business in a manner whereby you have disaster recovery, that would mean having a backup laptop/desktop you can work on when the other doesnt work. If not then tough cookie. Youve learnt a lesson here and should prepare accordingly for the future.ThegirlfromWestDidsbury wrote: »Hi there - I was wondering if any one could help. I paid £50 to have all my old computer moved over to it and another £50 for someone to look at it when I couldn't get wifi. I spent two days on the phone to ASUS trying to sort it - I lost two days work as I am a freelancer and work for myself - before ASUS said I had to send it back to ebuyer as there was a fault with the wifi driver. I then had to buy another, so they swapped in the post, losing another day of work.
Customer service says I'm not entitled to compensation, but surely I must be entitled to some. I didn't want to argue with the customer services guy, as he sounded like a robot reading from a sheet. The supervisor wouldn't come to the phone either. Any advice?0
