DH sent off to Birmingham for the day. Not due back until 2330. Then he's in surgery tomorrow and away with the army from tomorrow evening until Sunday evening. He is going to be absolutely k****ered.
Normal wake up at 0600 though, so I'm just into the routine a bit early (hence on here) 1 cup of tea and porridge wolfed, about to brew second.
Anyone able to help with a sewing machine. I have unearthed it from storage after 4yrs:eek: to sew some velcro onto thermal curtains for the kitchen door. I tried one row last night. It looks fine from the top side, but underneath there are huge tangled loops of thread. I can't work out from the diagrams online whether its the top or bottom tension or how to correct it. The top tension dial goes 1-9. Is 1 tight and 9 loose or vice versa?
I think it may need a service anyway, but if I can solve it with your help I can at least get the curtain up and get it serviced at a convenient time.
Hope everyones' day starts well. Fingers crossed fr good weather - I put the bins out and its cold and foggy here like yesterday. Turned out gorgeous in the afternoon.
It sounds a bit counter intuitive, but usually, when the snarl up is underneath, it's the top that isn't threaded right or has some other problem, maybe fluff stuck in the tension discs or something else.[SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. (((hugs))) to hilstep and hester
Thanks for the advice on the sewing machine. I've tried the top thread, so I'll give the shuttle screw a go. I've changed the needle to heavy duty, so after that it's a service job. Well it probably deserves it - it was a rehome from my godmother (85) and she's bought it reconditioned and had it serviced every year until she gave it to me about 10yrs ago.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Evening everyone
Not sure where today went I didn't seem to achieve very much. Made spicy lentil & carrot soup, hoovered downstairs, washed breakfast pots, collected carriage clock from menders. Collected 2 lampshades that I had ordered & put them up in hallway. Met a friend for coffee then went to college tonight.
HH -(((hugs))to you, your dh and family.
TA thinking of you
Hilstep (((hugs))) to you too.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.0
