Hi all

Nightmare, waterbill came today and they want to increase my bill to £60 a month for 2 adults and 1 child.

I was advised to check for leaking by not using any water seeing if reading increased, then turn stop tap off and check again. After doing this when the stop tap was turned off meter didnt change, as soon as we turned it back on again waited 2 hours (didnt use any water) the reading went up, so am i right to think the leak is internal somewhere?

My reading went from 090049 to 0900511 ( including red numbers) in 2 hours, how much water does this equate to?

Ive checkd for dripping taps, toilets running, pipe work under sink and still cant find anything dripping.

Not sure what my next move should be?

Thank you

How long ago did you have the meter fitted and what stop tap are you referring to, the main one in the house or the one on the meter?

If you were turning it off at the meter then it's a good chance it's the pipe between there and your house leaking

Ignore the red numbers for reading purposes. The black digits are cubic metres. So you've used 0.62 cubic metres in 2 hours-that's 620 litres. So yes, you have a leak between the meter and the property.
