Baxi 105HE Repressurise

Hi All,

I need to repressurise my boiler, but not 100% on which pipes I need to bleed/pressurise. I'm assuming I need a rigid or flexible filling loop to buy too, but I've taken a couple of photos of the pipework to the boiler to make it easier to identify

I haven't had central heating switched on for months as my house has been quite warm (only hot water) and the boiler worked fine before. So suspect I just need to pressurise again

The current boiler pressure is about 0.2bar atm

I've got a boiler manual but haven't read through it fully yet, I can deduct which pipes there are by process of elimination and seeing where the outlets/inlets come from and go to. I know some get hot too and they're thicker so these will be hot water outlets.

I'll post more tomorrow if there hasn't been a response. I'd prefer DIY first to keep it inline with MSE :)

What numbered taps would I need to use. Could anyone explain. I did try and search but came up with a few results, and thought pics would make it easier to identify.

  • 4&5 you don't need to buy anything, open one valve then slowly open the other one & watch the pressure gauge (with the boiler not running) when the pressure gets to just above 1 bar turn them both off, job done

    Thanks

I did and a reply to your post this morning but my phone crashed on me :/ I wanted to double check it

Repressurised this morning, pressure now sitting around 1.8bar and toasty radiators.

I'll leave the post up as the pics will probably help someone at a later date

You may need to bleed your upstairs radiators to let out any air now.

Yeah I bled them all after I reprussurised starting from the highest point to the lowest point

I kinda messed up when I did it I reprussurised the boiler then put the hot water on and started bleeding the boiler whilst it was still pumping away so created another air lock

I guess when you bleed gas combo it's meant to be

    1) turn off boiler and pressurise
    2) bleed system
    3) reprussurised I needed

The pressure currently is around 1 bar it dropped but hasn't moved ill keep an eye on it I at least know how to bleed the system now so can rebleed if necessary

1 bar is fine. It will rise slightly when the system (i.e. the water) is hot.
  • Also having issues with pressure on my baxi 105 he. Just moved intoa new home and seems water pressure is at 0.5 when not in use and around 1 when the hot tap is on. Unfortunately doesn't seem that I have the repressure hose present and looks like its been removed.
I have seen that you can buy these for around £15 and wondering if its straight forward to attach these?

  • Ilooks like it. Sorry can't post images as I'm a new member.
  • Don't have the filling loop like on your photo though. Would need a flexible filling loop but not sure how easy it would be to fit.
  • You should have two taps on the pipe work to the boiler (one on the cold in & one on the heating pipe, normally the right hand pipe), they would have a metal braided hose between them, if this hose is missing then you will need to buy a new filling loop this will come with two valves & the hose, you only need the hose so buy the cheapest one you can find
