Finally managed to get get_iplayer working, updated to v2.94
It only lists last 7 days programs, but iPlayer now goes back up to 30 days.
Is there a way to list & download programs over last 30 days ?0 -
AFAIK, the way to do that is by using the PID obtained from the iPlayer website.
Go on to the iPlayer website and find the programme you want. Copy the PID from the page URL. It looks like this: p02rwdr2 (that one is for a documentary about the Carry On films).
Then use the syntax:
get_iplayer --pid p02rwdr2 --get0 -

At first didn't work as I was trying to download an expired program, I was still playing it past 30 days end time. Expired programs won't download.
It works fine for still current programs.0 -
For radio, with appropriate care you can use get_iplayer (with either the built-in PVR functionality or your own scripting if you want to do things slightly differently) to take the 320kbps AAC encoded Radio 3 and Radio 4 content, and keep it permanently.
I have it rigged up to download all the Radio 3 and 4 content I want overnight, using a Raspberry Pi with a big disk drive on the back. The Pi is fitted with an SPDIF output into the main HiFi, using volumio as a user interface, but also runs minidlna so that a couple of Pure radios around the house can access the same archive.0
