Hi I'm switching my mothers broadband/talk package from Post Office to BT I've made the order with BT and everything seems to have gone through ok, do I need to do anything else i.e. do I need a MAC number and to call the PO to cancel the contract? I'm a bit out of the loop regarding BB migrations, etc. Thanks.

Mac no longer in use .
Cancel contract no if you are out of contract its 30 days notice if in contract you will be asked to pay the remaining months .0 -
If the PO don't contact you to say it went through, it would be belt and braces to check with them that BT have taken over.0

Once you have a switch date from BT, call the PO to confirm the cancellation, if you have not already switched over.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Alright, I think I'll wait till the day after the transfer has gone ahead and then phone the PO to confirm I don't want them getting the wrong end of the stick and ceasing the line and then having to go through the hassle of re-connecting the line or whatever.
Yes got a letter from the PO so thats ok I think
n.b. is anyone is thinking of switching to the PO check your exchange to make sure TalkTalk LLU is available in your area if not you'll get placed on the basic BT service and though our line is capable of 4-5mbps an average is 1.5 if you're lucky and 0.5 is usual especially in the evenings.
Abysmal service.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0 -
You will probably get notification from the PO.
When I left BT , for Sky, BT sent an email detailing the transfer and asking me to call them for a retention deal.0
