You have not even been to hospital (for this bump on the head!) and you are already calling a helpline about getting compensation! What is the world coming to!

Ye what is it coming to.... when peoples home is no longer a safe environment to live in because landlords can't pull their fingers out of their ar5es and perform repairs within a timely manner.
    Just terrible I agree

If you know a surface is wet then you take steps to minimise the risk until it is repaired. Was the OP incapable of putting down a mat themselves?

The landlord's inaction does not absolve the OP of applying basic common sense.

Maybe op did take care walking over it, but taking care doesn't remove the risk, just reduces it. Just maybe op taking care was the difference between the minor injury suffered and something more serious.

I might have been more sympathetic to the OP had they come on here to ask about how to tackle the LL to resolve the wet floor problem rather than asking for help on how to sue for compensation for hypothetical brain damage.

The way the OP wrote his first post indicates to me he actions were done to initiate a compensation claim. Worried about getting brain damage from a bump on the head, but rather than seek medical advice he's on the phone seeking compensation, then because he does not 'understand' what they have told him, he's on a forum seeking clarification!

Op, if repairs are not being undertaken, the mere threat of legal action or getting the council involved could be enough to get it sorted.

I agree a lot of people in this thread have jumped on you unnecessarily.

Maybe take your own advice and read the thread - The landlady has resolved the issue.

Or maybe the poster can learn to read what op put in the first place. It's all there in black and white.

OP was referring to my post and so I assume I am the poster you are referring to. I read carefully what the OP put and replied accordingly. As he did not like what I posted he threw all of his toys out of the pram.

The landlady has repaired the damage.
Jeez what has happened to people taking a bit of personal responsibility for themselves these days and actually taking a bit of care on wet floors.
I was incredulous that the OP sought legal advice and compensation before attending the hospital that he was adamant that he needed. I do not consider a telephone call to a GP who then apparently told him to attend A&E to be seeking medical opinion. I would consider that to be an examination and x-rays (as the OP is so insistent he has suffered some sort of dreadful injury ...).
