yes...but mostly about the 25% charge that goes to the government, this landlady ive known for 9 months and even though i get on well with her I could have brain damage for all I know, a friend of mine took a knock to the head at work, done nothing then 6 years later developed problems caused by it... im just not sure about what the company is telling me? it all sounds a bit funny to me
I suffer with anxiety, mental health problems like depression and suffer with liver disease so i feel unwell a lot, this morning bruising had appeared along side the mark where it full on hit my head
what is an ambulance chaser?
It doesn't go to the government. It goes to the firm representing you.
Pre-2013, NWNF (no win no fee) companies would claim their costs from the losing side. But then lord jacksons reforms came in and now if they want paid for their services, they need to deduct it from any damages awarded to you. There is no set amount they need to claim, only a maximum amount they can - which is 25%.
An ambulance chaser is basically poking fun at the idea of lawyers chasing ambulances to find clients in order to encourage them to sue for damages - sometimes even encouraging their clients to exaggerate their injury/losses.
Try and remember when you feel yourself spiralling that your anxiety is likely causing you to worry more than you should. Easier said than done I know. You didn't say anything about a concussion or losing consciousness - did either of those happen?
Wait for the doctors results before doing anything. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Obvious to me that there could brain damage / concussion .
Confusion erratic behaviour unable to control temper etc etc .0 -
How much are you paying your "friend" for the fantastic advice about claiming for a small bump to the head ?0

... my tenancy is up in january and Im pretty sure if we fall out over it we will be looking at having me thrown out then.
Really? You think if you sue your LL she might not be very happy about it and ask you to leave? I'm astonished that anyone could think such a thing. [/SARCASM].0 -
Who soaked the bathroom carpet? And as you were aware of it for months you should have shown due care and attention. Proving the LL is negligent here won't be straight forward.
For a small bruise on the head, don't give up your day job.0 -
Op, if repairs are not being undertaken, the mere threat of legal action or getting the council involved could be enough to get it sorted.
I agree a lot of people in this thread have jumped on you unnecessarily.0
