Parking eye "fine" for overstay in aldi cp

As per title,
Took my disabled wife shopping on the 4th of this month.
As she has mobility problems due to operations to remove cancer in her thigh she can't walk around quickly and has to stop for rests every now and then, anyway,
This morning I received an "invoice" stating that I overstayed their 1 & 1/2 hour limit by 21minutes.
We were parked in a disabled bay with her blue badge displayed.
I've read the newby thread but am still unsure what to do next.
All help will be much appreciated.

contact the manager at the aldi , he will tell you to ring aldi HQ , don,t ask , TELL THEM that your wife is disabled and they have not allowed extra time for this , quote the equality act , and if they do not stop the ticket , you will start to look at placing charges at aldi,s feet (aldi hired the goons)
whats the point of disabled badges , on a car park that is manned by an automated camera system !!!0 -
I think the bottom line is......Parking Eye will only pursue so far on the behalf of ALDI.
So sleep tight.Illegitimi non carborundum:)0 -
I'd escalate this to your MP and the press - local and national (I'm sure the Daily Mail would love to feature something on this). Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Having had a similar situation I went to the store armed with blue badge proof of purchase by way of redacted bank statement .
The store manager tried to fob me off intitially and seemed unsure of how the scam works so I spent some time reasonably explaining and educating him.
Firstly Aldi employ PE and can cancel tickets and the EA and disability being a protected characteristic and that reasonable adjustments should be made.
In the end he took copies of my paperwork to forward to customer services.
Not wanting to relay on others I immediately followed this up with an email to customer services with copies of the BB and redacted bank statements and details of the EA and the matter being time critical .
A few days later I received a response from Aldi stating they would instruct PE to cancel and my vehicle details had been noted and due to a disability my time would be doubled .
Knowing it was not over until the fat lady sings I waited a few days for the cancellation letter from PE which duly arrived.
If you do the above I'm sure you will have a similar outcome and whilst waiting for a response read the newbies as this has excellent advice so you know not to miss any dates to appeal if neededI Am Charlie0 -
In my experience, unlike some PPCs, ParkingEye will likely cancel when you appeal showing your wife's blue badge and explaining her difficulty.
Be careful NOT to name yourself as 'driver'. Use their ONLINE appeal form (don't write a letter) and call yourself the 'registered keeper' only and talk about 'the driver' and 'the passenger' in the third person. No flowery story of what happened, just 'the passenger is disabled and I attach a copy of both sides of her Blue Badge...as registered keeper of this car I ask that you cancel because the passenger has mobility problems due to operations to remove cancer in her thigh she can't walk around quickly and has to stop for rests every now and then.'
Also ask the store next time your wife is there, to add her name to a 'White List' which either makes the car exempt or it adds another hour to the free parking time for her (ask the Aldi Store Manager if that covers her in future or if she has to approach the CS desk and ask for more time, every time).
If no joy with the above, come back when you get your POPLA code for stage 2 appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
