For the moment, forget that someone else may have been using your name to get HB. I actually meant, did you claim HB whilst living at your previous address?
If you were, did you notify them when you moved out?0 -
I claimed HB at my previous address yes and I know for a fact I handed in a letter stating I moved, told council who at time confirmed it was closed because I had an issue getting final months rent paid to me as it was paid direct to LL and I had overpaid him.0

Have you any paperwork from the LA about your move and finalising your claim for HB for that property?

I can't remember to be honest, I am sure I got a final council tax bill to my current address for the part of the month I lived there so I know they knew I moved and the CT payment wasnt a full one.0
