Run around from council regarding lha

They put my claim on hold giving me mixed messages about why such as claiming I was overpaid or theres a claim left open from previous address and council so paid twice etc.

They asked for proof of me living here so I provided phone bills and then they said that was not enough as a single bill was late/unpaid (paid off following month) then they said not to worry as they will just get proof from other council about the claim being closed.

Then they went quiet on that then told me I had to reclaim and backdate then asked for the same bills again, and bank statements gong back to beginning of year.

Now they say the phone bills are unacceptable as they are not itemised so they want itemised bills which I cant get.

Just going around in circles so wanted to know what to do.

Do you have any other utility bills you could use - gas, electric, water etc?

None, its all pre pay, I do have a mobile bill but again unitemised and they say they dont accept them.

Was just on phone to council again and they claim to only have my most recent utility bill, yet I handed in 8 months worth 2 weeks ago, yet when I last spoke to them they quoted bills from May and June which they can't do unless they have them so it shows how bad they are and they even asked me to hand them in again.

They are really just messing me around.

Can't you just give them a copy of your Tenancy Agreement ?

Already done, as well as letter from landlord stating I still stay at the address.

Yes that is the issue so I can understand where they are coming from but I have provided multiple things to show I do and still live here

Who has been receiving the Housing Benefit at your old address?

Already given bank statements, I dont think its someone claiming at my old address as much as someone claiming in my name in same town, I did have postal theft when living there ars it was a communal letterbox which is one of the reasons I moved and also neighbour was a drug dealer and caugh his clients opening post one day when I was there talking about trying to find anything from jobcentre.

I am a bit unsure as keep getting told different things, only clear thing is that theres a claim at a different address for me, from what I understand its not for same town now I hear, its a town in same region as where I used to live and like 30 minutes away by train so doubtful its same.

They even said the claim was only open for 3 months as they wanted further information from person after the link was made and as they didnt provide it the claim was closed
