I'm finding a cheap flight to book with BA. I find out that if i booked from another country and joined from London it will be much cheaper. Am i able to do this?

No. If you don't take the first sector from the city where the booking starts (eg Dublin, Amsterdam, Oslo), all subsequent sectors in the booking will be cancelled automatically.0

you need to factor in the costs of getting to the "starting point of the ticket" and also understand the risks of separate tickets (if your positioning flight is delayed and you miss the xxx-LON flight you will need to purchase a new ticket, so overnight the night before may be a safe option)
flights from xxx + flight to xxx + hotel + additional time = worth it?
probably still worth it for business class upwards, possibly not worth it for economy
You would be purchasing flights from AAA - BBB that just so happen to go via LON, you are not purchasing flights from AAA - LON and LON - BBB...if you don't turn up at AAA, you wont be getting to BBB0
