Travel Republic - Hit or Miss??

Hi all
I'm looking at booking my partner and I to go to Turkey (Dalaman) for a friends wedding next year. My friend wants us to book into the Orka Sunlife Resort and Spa and the dates are specific too (May 16th 2016 for 7 nights).
All quotes we got are like for like, i.e. same flights, accommodation, luggage and transfers included etc).
Thomas Cook quote was £1054 (£250 deposit)
Love Holidays quote was £1023 (£99 deposit)
Travel Republic was £869.56 (£383.56 deposit).
Obviously the difference between the first two and the latter are quite a lot, so we are very tempted by Travel Republic. However, we've generally only ever booked package holidays or used the usual high street travel agents, so we're a little nervous about Travel Republic.
Anyone have any experience with Travel Republic, both with general bookings, how they deal with problems which may arise etc?
Any help would be greatly received

personally would steer clear after reading lots of negative reviews on Trip Advisor , some people will say yes they are ok and some wont
have a look on trip advisor and see"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0 -
Not used anyone else for the last 3-4 years, so that's a dozen or more bookings with them. A mixture of accommodation only, flight + accommodation, and all in, ie flight + accommodation + transfers + airport parking.
Can honestly say I've never had a problem.
In fact the only time I ever had to call them after booking was when Ryanair brought forward their flight times for one of last years holiday flights (many months after booking). I had to change both the transfers and airport parking, and obviously let the accommodation providers know we'd be arriving 7 hours earlier.
All dealt with in one swift phone call.
Highly recommended as far as I'm concerned. Indeed, already booked 2 of next years holidays with them.0 -
I've used them before with no problems. I had to change the room bookings on one holiday which they did with no fuss.0

We have booked several holidays with them never had any issues at all, we have had some really good savings and they use the same hotels etc that the others use.0

They're my first choice option for creating my non-packaged holiday to sunny Europe. Have used them several times without problems.0

They are a reputable company, and that's quite a good saving! Have you also checked AlphaRooms and Low Cost Holidays?
As always, make sure you have good insurance and enjoy your break!0 -
used them half a dozen times over last few years with no problems0

Now a fairly well established travel organiser and part of the much larger dnata group of companies. Sister travel brands include Travel 2, Travelbag, Gold Medal and many more.
TR will dynamically package using flights from one source, transfers (if you want them) from another and accommodation from a third party. If booking together you will be covered by the Flights+ elements of ATOL for extra protection.
No reason to avoid them and as other posters have indicated they have a fairly satisfied customer base.0 -
A lot of the bad experiences I've seen on here have been related to some travel sites (including Travel Republic, although don't know if they still do it) booking Ryanair flights on behalf of customers. Ryanair has a specific policy of only selling flights directly to customers, so buying from a 3rd party goes against their T&C (and can also mean that after booking you're asked to pay more because the price on Ryanair's website has gone up since they gave you the price).Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
