Does Mr TM pinch the covers too? :o

Just remembered Mr TS was chuffed to bits yesterday, someone thinks he did the fastest cycle during the day on Friday at the sponsored event. And he was probably one of the oldest.

I expect I will get the full results once he knows them he won't be able to resist showing off if he did. :rotfl:

Prescot Tosco aisle nearly empty once word got around store:rotfl:
    Windnes aisle blocked off.

I bet they were! It's typical that I knew absolutely nothing at all about this:o:o:((:rotfl:) - as usual everyone else on here is so much better than me! I've never even heard of a "Value" aisle or a "branded" aisle before. I'm sure if any 1p items ever appear in my stores they do so on one hour on one specific day, when I'm not there, and get snapped up completely before I'm ever able to be in the store. I've never even found any 1p item in T, let alone managed successfully to buy one - it's just not my area of expertise:(:D.

Instead, for my own shopping today (such of it as was), I made do with spending a couple of wombles - and ended up paying a total of 1p in cash. So that's the 1p shopping of my own - however, of course it was all calculated with normal pricing rather than 1p per item - so I feel ripped off!:rotfl:

No APGs to show as I didn't buy enough. My run of luck on the wombles has come to a sudden halt:( - I picked up about ten more receipts but I've ended up with just a couple of quid more in total - hardly worth bothering going:(:rotfl:. There was another 40p on one and 8p:( on another but they're far too low to be dealing with. Then someone from this house that can't drive didn't bother coming back so I had to drive out all the way back to pick them up:(:( (sigh:rotfl:). Not very MSE at all.

I'm running low on cereal as well, and no Kellogg's Crunchy Nut left now, so I'm going to give A's CBY Nut Corn Flakes a go. They're normal £1.50 for 750g as Kellogg's are not currently any really good comp. against anyone. It'll be really testing me to go for a substitute product on that one, as Kellogg's version are my absolute favourite! That said, I've only ever tasted Kellogg's before and not tried any of the others so, as usual, people always assume the brands are best simply because they are trusted and tried and tested - I've no truck with such a thing:money: and I'm sure it'll be the usual case of there being no noticeable difference at all. So, the CBY Nut Corn Flakes - four times the cost of normal Corn Flakes:eek::rotfl:!

It's also hardly any good as the last glitch price we ended up with on (Kellogg's) Crunchy Nut was about 88p for 750g. So, in that light, £1.50 now seems very expensive!

It's no good comparing items against normal regular prices and the 1p items at T make everything that's bought at comparisons vs half prices now seem extremely dear! Why bother with any 'offer' tea, or Cif, after all this?

On the cereal though, fortunately I never got caught by my own '625g Sugar Puffs' vs £1.62 offer prices that appeared on my Tvs M list when on offer in M. Currently Mvs T at offer price. But it's no good: despite putting them onto my own lists, I've never bought them myself. And just as well - as A's 450g version at £1 turns out to be more than 10% cheaper by weight! (Don't get confused: it's not comparable as it's different pack size - just saying that the price per unit in A, on its version of this brand, is more than 10% lower than the price per unit on the other weight version in T. So, it's actually better to get the 450g version in A. Which, being short on cereals, I did, with the other womble, last time. 450g at £1 is 'good' price on them (even if it's a bit above 20p/100g) - remember that the next time you see 320g:( Sugar Puffs elsewhere go to normal £1 offer prices - in order to match the price of the 450g version in A, the 320g would have to go to 71p or below not £1!)

not all stores seem to have got the new system yet, and so far it doesn't actually work in any of them. Just causes massive delays.
It is supposed to stop people using APG twice.
Who knew you could do that??? x

    I phoned asda yesterday

i mentioned this new till and they had no knowledge of it and assured me that they do not need the bottom barcode and that's for the cash office.

I tell you what it's a long bloomin drive from down here.

I was frightened to death first time as we went over Severn bridge and up through some welsh mountains in my little Fiesta, good job Mr TS was driving I was nervous as hell. Took us about 8 hours.

Second time we drove up on the English motorways and then think turned off Telford way? Not entirely sure but it was bit quicker. :)

We had the quickest journey back from North Wales to Tamworth yesterday, done it in 2 hours 10 minutes, we didnt see a car on the road until we hit Cannock.

quorn was 3 for £5 - only the sausages compared and gave a tiny APG - so I don't know what would happen if you bought 2 sausages and an NA or 3 sausages ...

    [...]
    1x Quorn 8 Meat Free Sausages (336G) £1.67 £1.48
    [...]

I think you'd probably end up paying way too much for those 2 (or 3) packs of sausages:rotfl:!

I think I've decided that 300g 6 pack Quorn/LM sausages at 90p net are way too dear, since these 336g 8 pack also go onto £1 (or maybe 99p) on offer elsewhere and hopefully 90p net when they do.

I think I ended up deciding that 90p net. for these 336g sausages was still way too high; but now, on rechecking, I find that it was some 375g Quorn frozen sausages in Iceland that went to £1 at some time. (They are now £2.) When they were on offer in Iceland, they worked out at about the same price by weight as the 336g with 10% off competitors' 99p/£1 prices, but only if (whenever that happens - they currently aren't any competitors at those prices) they compare to those offer prices the way they should. Which means that a comparison against a 99p/£1 on 336g isn't that bad, as long as (when it happens) it gets picked up - it's roughly equiv. to the Iceland offer on the higher weighted pack. But I think the sausages in the Iceland one must be slightly smaller, as it's a 10 pack and if it were 336g for 8, it should be 420g for 10 not 375g. But, on weight, it's still about the same price - £1 for 375g - as roughly 89p/90p for 336g (in other words £1 or 99p, with 10% off). Am I making myself clear? It's been a long night:rotfl:.

1x Disney Star Wars Cup Cake Kit (EACH) £1.48 £1.00

Yes they are £1 in Morries. (Probably way too dear:eek::rotfl::rotfl: as SP Sponge Mix at 22p is much cheaper:rotfl::p:rotfl:.) For those that notice the absence of this version from the M list - they were not on msm:( and it's because I use that as I find it easier to find stuff on there than a.com.

EDIT: They are now on there and the omission has been corrected:

Fiddes Payne Disney Star Wars Cup Cake Kit (185g)

      [Strike]£1.50[/Strike]
      £1.00
    • Store_8.15px.png
      £1.00

Note, for the APG, we are now looking at a.com these days and it doesn't matter that it's not on msm. (Just a note for those who need it - I know the people with great expertise on here won't need me to say this.) (Not that the people that didn't know didn't have expertise - I'm digging a hole:o:o and best stop:rotfl:.)

That of course is better than either of the two 181g that are already on the list:rotfl:.
