  • Enterprise - you WILL see people dressed out in all their finery on board. OK, if they want to do this. I've been there, done that, in the past & don't feel the need to do it anymore.
With airlines being restrictive on what you can fly with without surcharges, who wants to pay extra to be 'the peacock'? If you wear something nice you feel comfortable in you'll enjoy yourself more.

Junk jewellery will be fine. There's no way I'd want to take gold either. I have a very chunky plastic necklace that my nan picked up in a jumble sale. Everyone compliments me on it as they think it's gold - if only they knew! lol It would put my neck out if it were real!

Thank you, I think I am now decided. I have a couple of nice maxis from M&S, one I bought for £19 a couple of years ago and one I bought a couple of days ago for £15.20 :D That will do me. I also have a couple of decent cocktail dresses, may well spend the money on some elasticated trousers and a couple of nice tops :o
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Works out that for every 3 you buy for £3 you get an apg for £3.11 A v T. Even better return if you buy A v M.

  • We're slumming at and going with Fred Olsen, so should get away with just maxi dresses :D The thing I worry about is going without jewellery, there is no way I am taking mine away with me so I have got some junk jewellery to take :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Strangely Fred Olsen was a very dressy ship when I went on it , back in 2004. I think it was because it was adults only except for 2 cruises a year.
I thought MSC would be dressy being Italian but it really wasn't.
Some ladies really dressed up on formal nights some didn't. I think because we were in port every day there wasn't time to go all out on formal nights.
I agree with wirs if you prefer trousers then with a dressy blouse that's ok for formal as is a nice maxi dress.
