Not on flight Maifisto

We booked a Holiday with Saga in December 2014, flying with Thomas Cook from Manchester Airport to go island hopping in the Canaries on the 25 Sept 2015.
The flight was due to depart at 7.00am and we arrived to check in at 4.45am.
Due to a mix up between the two of them (we don't know who) we were denied boarding as our names were not on the manifesto of Thomas Cook and after lots of messing about and phone calls we finally flew with Jet2 at 15.55pm. Where do we stand with compensation.

If you did not have a confirmed booking on a flight, the airline is not responsible. (for denied boarding compensation you have to have a confirmed booking)
This is a case for Saga to see what they will offer for their error which inconvenienced you0
