mine is applied on the 19th of the month, and yes, the interest was credited fine at close of business on that date.

I think you'll find it's credited at the end of the day on which it is due to be paid.
  • Same here, 19th.

If you have the interest applied annually, then it's meant to be credited on 22/8. Hopefully it will be there tomorrow (my mum's isn't showing today). Is the 19th for monthly interest?

Given NR's current problems, I think I'm going to move my mum's savings elsewhere once it's been credited. I know it's unlikely that NR will go under but she has more than £35K in there and why take the risk when you can get the same rates elsewhere?
    • annual interest is paid on 22 August. Interest can be added to your Silver Savings Online Account, transferred into a Northern Rock account or paid by electronic transfer into an account with another bank or building society.
    • monthly interest is usually paid on the 19th of each month as above.
    From NR website.
    Yes, I've baled out too.

That's not a call I'd make unless I'd read the full accounts of all of them ;-)

The fact is, it's probably best not have more than £35,000 with any single institution; I've spread my savings around the highest interest-payers with that in mind.

ok until you need accounts into double figures to be able to spread it around like that. ;)

I don't know what "DAK" stands for (probably blindingly obvious!) but if you're asking when it would normally be showing by, I'd said tomorrow is more likely than today with NR. If it were Icesave, then I'd have expected it today.

DAK = do you know (how could I have missed that?)
