Parking ticket on windscreen for wrong car

Hi all,
I received a parking ticket on my windscreen for a Fiat when I own a Mazda. The car registration details are also different. The online photographic evidence shows the Fiat parked without a ticket in a disabled bay.
I do admit that I didn't see the signs for a P&D car park and should have received a ticket.
Just looking for advice about what to do. I don't want to receive a full fine through the post in the future.
My current thinking is write to their appeals saying this PCN was on my windscreen. If there are any penalty charge notices relating to my registration number please let me know? My thinking being as I know I should probably have had a ticket that mine has been mixed/swapped with another car.
Cheers all

IF you are the registered keeper, Do not contact the parking company, WAIT for them to get in touchFrom the Plain Language Commission:

Private
UKPC to be exact.0 -
Who is the ticket from?
If it is in a private car park then it is not a fine, but a speculative invoice.
If it is a council ticket then the wrong registration is fatal.
Either way, no need to worry, and don't contact anybody yet.
[Update] As it is a UKPC ticket, DO NOT contact them. If you get a letter from them let us know. UKPC cannot get keeper details from the DVLA.Je suis Charlie0 -
@Half_way - do you mean wait and see if they send notice for my Mazda.
1. I would then lose the chance to pay the reduced fine
2. What evidence do I have that I didn't receive the parking ticket for my car (if there is one). I could have stolen someone else's parking ticket to concoct this situation (if I was Dr. Evil)0 -
What 'reduced f - - -'?
there IS no f- - -. We don't use that word here.

Put UKPC in the Search box, top right above the list of Threads - you have struck gold! :-) Not so, ukpc.
Don't even think of paying any private parking scumpany, ever.

It's not a fine!
You should not get anything in the post.
You will be paying nothing (unless you are panicked by the rubbish on the sPeCulative iNvoice into contacting UKPC).
Oh, and its it's not a fine!Je suis Charlie0 -

ghanel,
UKPC are currently banned from accessing the DVLA database. Even if they've swopped two tickets for the wrong car (and someone with a FIAT now has a ticket for your MAZDA) then UKPC - if not contacted - cannot obtain the identity of the registered keeper of either vehicle.
As advised, DO NOT CONTACT THEM at this point.
If they do subsequently contact you then something's gone wrong (for them) and you could well drop them in the deep brown stuff.
Don't worry about losing the discount, you'll end up paying £0 whatever happens.Je Suis Cecil.0
