The evidence needs to compare the state at check in with the state at checkout. If the LL claims cleaning deductions etc. make sure you submit your evidence of the state at check in and state specifically that there was dust and limescale present then. For the missing items summit your evidence they were present at checkout.
If it comes to a dispute the deposit dispute resolution is a paper exercise, their judgement is only as good as the evidence given to make sure yours is clear and explains each point. Include a copy of the check in report and refer to that.0 -

Yes, they only sent the report and are requesting all receipts for cleaning, etc. not sure why they need them - I have a receipt, but do no see any reason why they would need one.0 -

If you don't agree with the proposed deductions then dispute them. This is all explained in the "Deposits" link I gave you earlier.
There are no proposed deductions or any follow up. I received the report last Friday and responded right away that I disagree with their assessment of the cleaning. They did not propose any deductions in the report. I am chasing them for a week now to clarify when they will return the deposit and how much - however, they are simply not responding for a week. What can I do?0 -

Can I just go to the deposit scheme and request my deposit in the full amount ? or is it better to wait for the agency to respond?0 -
1) you seem to be panicking prematurely - they have not yet proposed any deductions!
2) yes you can apply to the scheme for your deposit.

Have you read the scheme's processes?
Follow the single claim process if/when the LL fails to respond or act.0 -
pumen, As well as protecting the deposit the landlord should have served you with the deposit scheme prescribed information so dig that out, it will explain how the scheme works and give you all the details you need. (If it wasn't served check the penalties you could sue for.).
I suggest you go onto the website of the deposit scheme your deposit is in and log on, see what it says about the status of the deposit. I'd wait 10 days from moving out and then request deposit return as per the instructions of the deposit scheme.
If you have any problems you can always ring the deposit scheme and ask what to do next.0 -
The deposit is registered with TDS. I read the brochure. I need to provide evidence - but what evidence if the landlord/agent are not responding to my emails. I know they are not happy with cleaning, but they have not proposed any deductions. In order for me to initiate the dispute, I need to provide evidence. But what evidence can I provide if they are not responding to my emails and I do not know what exactly/how much they will want to do?0

If your LL doesn't return your deposit within the prescribed 10 days then your evidence is that your deposit still hasn't been returned, despite no claim being made against it.0
