Bought an e1200 as an impulse buy, regret it, what to do now?

I, as I'm sure most of you fellows on here do, hate wasting money on things. I bought a second cheap pay as you go phone (samsung e1200) since I had not been receiving text messages on and off for a long time on my current phone for nearly a year and been putting off sorting the issue out.

Well someone said it's probably not the phone and more likely the service provider. My obssessive side got the better of me though and I wanted to buy the phone since I figured I'd never be sure; belt and braces kind fo thinking. I am going to change simcards on the old phone too but I was being desperate and impatient worrying if I'm missing out on precious texts so got the new phone before even trying a new sim to find out if that was causing the problem.

The phone was only £16 but still I hate to see things going to waste especially brand new physical items.

It is not like me as I usaully try one thing at a time in a scientific manner, but since I had put the job off for so long I had a bit of a rash of buying thinking I'll get it over with. Don't know what I was thinking tbh. mainly it was being afraid of losing any more texts.

I have that uncomfortable feeling, you know where you feel you did something bad.

The packaging is ripped so don't wanna try get a refund.

It might turn out I do need the phone after all but I don't know yet since no1 is texting me and I don't know when that will be and the issue would only happen sporadically. Sort of stuck now in limbo for a bit.

I guess I'll just have to chastise myself a little more and chalk it up to experience and sell on ebay in a while. Would be silly to sell it and find out I actually needed it after all. but likewise also silly if I find I didn't need it. So whether I feel foolish or not hangs within the balance of fate and only time will tell.

And the point of a new thread to say that is??

Can I get a refund on the minutes that I used to read that? If you bought it online, send it back for a refund. If not....

Can I still get a refund even if it's opened though and I broke the packaging?

There's like a silver magnetic strip you had to unhinge when I opened it. Does that change things?

EDIT: Yay, they agreed to a replacement :). Now that is a nice feeling :). Hope it finds a good home.
