Sky TV offer mistake on upgrade

Options
I recently phoned up sky looking to see what offers there were to add movies and boxsets to my package. They informed me that the family bundle is normally £36/month and that they would give it to me half price for 12 months at £18/month. In total the upgrade and addition of the movies was going to cost me £7 less per month. I confirmed the offer with the operator and then waited for the movies to appear. However approx. 5 minutes later, sky phoned me back to say that they had made a mistake and that the half price offer was only on the difference to upgrade to the family bundle, and this was £6. Therefore they would give it to me for £3 extra per month for 12 months.
Can I hold Sky to their original offer or are they within their rights to cancel the offer as they had made a mistake?

Thanks
Stephen

    Good luck!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
