Tesco current account can only be paid INTO by me!

I've had a Tesco current account for a while now, and have just changed jobs where I get paid in cash. My closest store that takes deposits (20 minutes away) were unsure about accepting the cash until I pointed out that their website states that they do. Anyway, it got done.
They asked me to sign, and checked my signature, which made me ask if anyone else can pay into the account. The answer was no! So I can't ask anyone else to pay anything into the account for me. It's for my security apparently. I have since called customer services and this has been confirmed!
I can understand only me being able to withdraw, but deposit? That's a bit far isn't it!?
Anyway, just a warning for any of you considering a Tesco current account where you may not be able to make your deposits yourself

You need to use your bank card with you to pay in. As you should not give your card to anyone else that means no one else can pay in.0

Yes, makes it very awkward. I know Tesco isn't a high street bank buy Barclays (for example) just need the account details.
If I had known this, I wouldn't have switched to Tesco0 -
Move your account to somewhere else if Tesco doesn't suit you.0

Is this your only current account?
If you have another, can you pay cash into that more conveniently then transfer by FP?
If you don't have another current account, why not open one where you can pay cash in more conveniently, or one which allows you pay in via the Post Office?
My internet is playing up, but this might help.

Archi, that's the point I'm making... This was something I wasn't aware of before opening the account, so I'm making people aware.
Badger - good idea! Thank you!x0 -
Although I don't have a Tesco account I can't see any reason why other people wouldn't be able to pay in electronically, so it's really only cash payments that can't be done.0

The OP could ask the employer to pay the salary by bank transfer?0

Can you use the Post office to pay in?

You can also deposit money into most major bank accounts at the counter in any of our branches.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
I can't pay into a Tesco account the Post Office unfortunately.
I think what I will do is stick with it for now and make sure that I budget for DDs to come out, buying me time to bank my wages. If it does become a problem, I'll look into another account. Hey I might even get a reward for an account switch!
Thank you for the comments x0
