We have always just shared a single in these situations

I can understand why you would be miffed, especiallt if you paid extra for a double, they broke contract imo.0 -
lg789 I think you are right to complain. If you ordered Mashed potatoes in a cafe and you got chips, just beacuse there wasn't much price difference, or that they were quite similar isn't good enough.I'm sure you both made the best of it, but I don't thats the point. You didn't get what you ordered.0

I am with you on this one! Pushing 2 single beds together is NOT the same unless all you want to do is sleep!!
I went to Egypt 4 star in May of this year and for the first time ever got a double bed abroad! Not only that it was king size!!! Top marks Egypt!!

it's a shame but on a hotels list of priorities facilitating your nightly or daily needs are right at the bottom. if you had no bed at all i could understand it ...a miniscule amount of imagination should see you alright when your need for loving becomes uncontrollable.
as a side note if hotels had loads of rooms with double beds the cost overall for staying at the hotel would increase as the hotel wouldn't be able to let these rooms to people who are travelling together but aren't a couple.
far more flexibility for the hotel with this arrangement which means fuller hotel and hopefully lower prices0 -
i sympathise - on our very first holiday away me an my now oh got a twin room that due to the shape of the room couldnt be pushed together, we just collapsed in fits of laughter - no point in complaining as it was during the TT so we made the best of it lol. lots of ribbing off our friends. in your case though i would complain.'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

I totally agree with you on this one lg789, it has happened to me a lot recently although I have got the hotels so cheaply it hasnt been worth complaining about.
However if I had paid even a moderately large amount for a room which wasnt as described then I would definitely complain. It is a classic case of marketing something which isnt available only to unveil the reality when its generally too late.
Good luck with your complaint!0 -
I'd've asked for the refund there and then
Pushing together for me is great as you get more room ..... Plus my husband's the biggest fidget in the world, therefore pushing together solves this problem. 0 -
No idea how that sad face got up there :rolleyes:0

been there, done that......... kinda ruined the moment! it was funny though!Am I the only person picturing the OP and partner disapearing down the gap between the beds as they seperate again mid snog;)
i guess i wouldn't mind too much except that this was a 4* hotel - i wouldn't pay that much money and expect poor service. personally, i would demand that they provided breakfast in bed or something like that to make up for it:happyhear0
