In my OH's case it was 12 weeks from start to finish.
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

I'm thinking, would it being near to Christmas delay it at all?

    Thanks

It is now taking around three weeks from returning the from, to a decision.
Another three if you live in london or the southeast.

Forgot to say that we spent a good 2-3 weeks filling the form in, so I suppose it would be quicker if you sent it almost straight back. Then had to attend medical assessment and there was a bit of wait for that.

What about attending the medical.. or don't they do that anymore? hearing mixed messages, from people who only had to do a paper questionnaire..

It'll be two weeks on Wed that they've had my form and I've not heard anything yet. I'm hoping for a fast turn around as I'm unable to walk and I need money for taxis to get my little boy to School x

We had a notification that the form has been passed to ATOS within two days of us posting it and my OH did have to attend a medical assessment.

Perhaps in your case it is good news that you haven't heard anything and that it will be the DWP reviewing your form rather than passing it on to ATOS.

  • My PIP took, IIRC, seven weeks. I didn't have to attend an in-person medical, probably due to my age. I received a backdated payment for the time between the claim and the grant.

If I get my hands on some money, I'll kiss its green skin, and I'll ask its dirty face, "where the Hell have you been?".

Thanks. Here's hoping they'll do a paper review! That would be great. I've been hearing horror stories about assessments x

  • My PIP took almost a year. I applied last November, had assessment mid May. Got turned down. Did reconsideration & appeal. Went to tribunal on Friday & they overturned DWP decision, so I'm waiting on almost a years back pay!
